Sauna Do’s & Don’ts 

Preparing for the Sauna

Planning is essential for all activities and it is very much so for the sauna experience. While you really do not need to do much as for the actual sauna (as we take responsibility of delivery and pickup) you would need to get ready as the sauna experience can be intense physically. Thoughtful preparation can help with making the sauna experience even more enjoyable and relaxing. A sauna experience should never be rushed. 

Do

 

  • Read the sauna guides and operating manual
  • Clean up well before using the sauna, a shower or a bath is encouraged
  • Wear comfortable clothes to the sauna, nothing too tight fitting
  • Wear clothing with light and breathable material
  • Stock up on towels, one to sit on, one (or a couple more) to wipe away the sweat
  • Wear a hat to protect your head from overheating and hair from drying
  • Drink plenty of water or herbal teas before, during and after sauna sessions
  • Maintain a calm and quiet atmosphere inside and around the sauna
  • Keep your behavior mild and courteous
  • Ask your fellow sauna users before you do anything like turn up the heat or loyly

Don’ts

 

  • Do not use sauna if you have a heart condition or are pregnant
  • Avoid staying too long in a single round or pushing too much beyond your comfort level
  • Alcohol does not mix with sauna experience and can be harmful
  • If you had just had your meal or feel full, you are not ready for the sauna
  • Jewelry may heat up and cause burns inside a sauna, No jewelry in a sauna
  • Phones/laptops (electronics) and saunas don’t mix
  • No glasses or contact lenses while using the sauna
  • Spitting inside or around a sauna is prohibited
  • Over loyly can be very unpleasant, avoid too much loyly
  • Saunas are good for post workout, do not exercise/workout inside a sauna
  • Do not self groom or groom others (cut nails, pick tooth) inside a sauna
  • Do not yell or shout or otherwise be obnoxious to others in a sauna
